This foundation aimed at children and young people in Spain and Ukraine in situation of poverty, abandonment and social exclusion.

The cruellest aspect of poverty and social exclusion in Spain is embodied by the situation of children, who have significantly higher risk indicators for both than other age groups, reaching 32.9% of all children. In 2016, one out of every three children in Spain was at risk of poverty and/or social exclusion.

Between 2009 and 2013, the AROPE rate was around 32%, between five and seven points above AROPE rate for the rest of population. In 2014, the AROPE rate for children increased more than any other age group, reaching 35.8%.

Between 2015 and 2016, a slight reduction was observed, although it remains in extremely high levels.
